Vavanz rata is owned by the Gazhiwe and Gaske lineages who give small portions of it to ordinary Dghweɗe. The Gazhiwe are "corn blessers" while the Gaske are "rainmakers". The Gazhiwe are descendents of the younger brother of the twin brothers from whom Gaske and Gaɗagha descend. These three closely related kin groups are the three expert lineages of the Dghweɗe.
