The group of pots in this photo belong to the abandoned Dughwede compound described above. The group consists of mostly ritual pots. Some of them are funnel pots but also a pedestalled bowl for sauces used in rituals can be seen in the centre. The latter type was placed in the shrine as seen in the Chikide compound.

Please note the pot with the small opening but deep conical funnel at the bottom left centre of this image, Such conical funnels are quite common in the Mandara mountains but the characteristic small opening can only be found in area of the Gwoza Hills.
