A similar technique could be deduced from finds of broken DGB funnel necks. However, the latter might well have joined the funnel as a whole since they had a flat bowl-like shape. To connect a deep conical funnel in its entirety would be much more difficult to achieve.

It now becomes clear that the funnel had been connected to the top of the coiled up pot, as already suggested in the previous image.
