Lamang funnel pot (height: 27cm)

These are images of funnel pots from the surrounding foothills and plains of the Gwoza Hills (see map). The pots are of a small to medium size. It came as a surprise to find that the groups of the adjacent plains had funnel pots. So, this took me to nearby Kirawa to see whether the Mandara also had such beer pots or any memory of having had them in the past. I found that they had not, which might well have to do with the fact that they adopted Islam a long time ago.
